Immune-Boosting Elixir

Packed with warming spices and natural immune-supporting ingredients, this drink is perfect for when you need a nourishing boost. Fresh ginger, garlic, and turmeric combine with honey and cayenne pepper, while baobab powder adds a citrusy tang and a potent dose of vitamin C, proven to help reduce the duration of a cold and soothe a sore throat.

Ingredients:

  • 500ml hot water (not boiling)
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric (or 1.5 cm piece fresh turmeric, grated)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp raw honey (or to taste)
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1.5 Tbsp Organic Baobab Powder

Method:

Add the grated ginger, garlic, turmeric, cinnamon and cayenne pepper to a heatproof jug. Pour over the hot water and let steep for 5–7 minutes.

Strain the liquid into mugs, discarding the solids. Stir in the honey and lemon juice until dissolved.

Whisk in the Organic Baobab Powder just before serving. Adjust sweetness or spice to taste.

Serve warm as a soothing tonic, or chill and serve over ice for a refreshing immunity-boosting drink.
